Introduction
The San Leandro Marina (SLM) is known to be a hot spot for Lapras in the San Francisco East Bay Area. Looking at the last 35 spawns in the past 31 days (January 13, 2016 to February 13, 2017), I've drawn the following conclusions:
Location
Here is the map of the Lapras Spawns in the last month: Imgur Most spawns appear to be along the water. But notice a couple spawned in an unreachable areas out in the island or water!
Frequency
35 Lapras Spawned in 31 days, that is on average 1.13 Lapras per day. They range from 0 to 5 spawns per day but with nearly half of the days having zero spawns. Here is a histogram: Imgur Since Spawns are not normally distributed, we should plot the cumulative Lapras spawns over the last 31 days. From here we see that they do somewhat spawn in clusters, and then shut off for a few days. Imgur The median time between spawns is 8.9 hours. But given how erratic they spawn, it hard to say when they will spawn: Imgur If we remove the "shut off time" and just analyze the clusters of spawns, they seem to spawn every 5.4 hours: Imgur
Correlation
There is not enough data to conclude with any statistical significance if Lapras spawns more on one day of the week over another: Imgur Lapras does seem to spawn more often at night than during the day. But again, it may not be statistically significant given the small dataset: Imgur IV's and CP's Lapras spawn IV's are probably normally distributed with an average of 50%. Histogram: Imgur Note that only 1 out of 35 spawned above 90% IV. Lapras spawn CP's are for the most uniformally distributed across the full range. Histogram: Imgur The max CP was 2343 and the min CP was 123.
Conclusion
The Lapras spawn at San Leandro Marina is pretty erratic and infrequent. It can go days without a spawn. So I would set your expectations accordingly before coming here and expecting to catch a Lapras. It is a nice dratini spawn though, so at least you can expect to catch those. Cheers. :)
