Critical Catch

Critical Catch is a mechanic in Pokemon Go. It is a random occurrence that guarantees that the Pokemon is caught. During the Critical Catch animation, the Poke Ball immediately drops to the ground, only shakes once and a burst of stars appears and 4 rays of light leaving upwards in a zig zag motion.

• Critical Catch was introduced in 2/16/2017 with the release of Generation 2 Pokemon.
