  • Poke Ball travels at an angle/arc, it might take a few throws for you to get used to it.
  • Turning off AR will keep the Pokemon in the center of screen, giving you an easier time to catch it.
  • The size of the targeting circle changes constantly. Throw the Poke Ball when the circle is small and you will have the best chance to successfully capturing the Pokemon.
  • The color of the targeting circle indicates how difficult it is to catch that Pokemon. Green is easiest, yellow easy-intermediate, orange is intermediate and red is the hardest. You might want to use better Poke Balls such as Great or Ultra Ball for the latter colors.
  • Pokemon can dodge or parry you balls. You can avoid it by touch the ball and hold it or continuously spin it until the Pokemon has performed a dodge or parry, then immediately release the ball.
  • Spin the Poke Ball by tapping the Ball then move your finger in circular motion rapidly. The spinning adds a curve to your ball's travel path. It also grants you more XP when you successfully catches a Pokemon with this method.
  • Feed the Pokemon with a Razz Berry will make it easier to catch on the next throw.
  • Used better Poke Balls such as Great Ball (unlocked at level 12) and Ultra Ball (unlocked at level 20). These balls give greater chance of capturing Pokemon.
