As the player levels up, he can now encounter stronger Pokemons with higher CP and rarity. These strong Pokemons are needed to be able to conquer Gyms. Reaching higher levels would also give rewards like [[Incense]], [[Lucky Egg]], [[Egg Incubator]], [[Berries]] and [[Pokeball]]s. To add to that, higher levels would also give you access to better [[Potions]], [[Revives]] and better balls for catching like [[Great Ball]] and [[Ultra Ball]].
Leveling is also applicable in Gyms wherein [[Prestige]] points are earned to increase Gym levels.
