Stardust is a Power Ups Item. It can be acquired from catching Pokemon or hatching one from eggs (100 Stardust each time). Your trainer has to be level 10 or higher.
You can also obtain them by Defending a Gym. If you have placed a Pokemon to defend your team's Gym, you can collect a Defender Bonus of Stardust and PokeCoins every 20 hours.
