*The size of the [[Targeting Circle|targeting circle]] changes constantly. Throw the Poke Ball when the circle is small and you will have the best chance to successfully capturing the Pokemon.
*The color of the targeting circle indicates how difficult it is to catch that Pokemon. Green is easiest, yellow easy-intermediate, orange is intermediate and red is the hardest. You might want to use better [[Poke Balls]] such as [[Great Ball|Great]] or [[Ultra Ball]] for the latter colors.
*Pokemon can [[dodge]] or [[parry]] you balls. You can avoid it by touch the ball and hold it or continuously spin it until the Pokemon has performed a dodge or parry, then immediately release the ball.
